Mining Museum Glückauf-Schacht Mehren
The "Glückauf" clay and kaolin shaft of Mehren was declared a technical monument in 1990. In 1995, a museum dedicated to the removal of clay and kaolin was installed. Here one can experience the history of mining from more than 200 years. Many exhibits in the museum tell of the heavy work of the miners. Sights are the Schaustollen, cableway loading stations as well as the Schachtanlage. At a guided tour you will learn more about kaolin.
